Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 May 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Quillet app and related services. By using Quillet, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
Quillet is a reading app offering a library of public-domain literature, an AI reading companion ("Sage"), and reader discussions. Signing in is optional.
2. Accounts
You may use Quillet anonymously or sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
3. Community guidelines & acceptable use
Quillet has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. When you post, comment, or otherwise contribute, you agree not to publish content that is:
- harassing, threatening, hateful, or that targets others;
- sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise illegal;
- spam, impersonation, or deceptive;
- infringing on others' intellectual-property or privacy rights.
You can report any post and block any user from within the app. We review reports and may remove content and suspend or remove users who violate these guidelines, at our discretion and without notice. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content promptly (typically within 24 hours).
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content within the service. You are responsible for the content you publish and confirm you have the right to publish it.
5. AI features
Sage and AI-generated discussion content are produced by automated systems (powered by Google's Gemini API) and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected. AI content is provided for engagement and convenience only and is not professional advice. AI-generated discussion posts are labelled as such in the app.
6. Third-party content and catalogs
The built-in library draws on public-domain texts from Standard Ebooks and Project Gutenberg, which remain subject to their respective terms. Quillet also lets you connect your own OPDS or Calibre catalogs and open EPUB files you provide. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and read any content you add, and you agree not to use Quillet to access infringing material.
7. Intellectual property
The Quillet app, its design, and its branding are owned by us. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or software beyond use of the app as intended.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
9. Termination
You may stop using Quillet and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
